		<description><![CDATA[<p><b>SMEclub Business Starter Pack - get training, financing, mentoring to start your own business!</b> <em>(1136 views)</em></p><p>The Business Starter Pack is a self-employment scheme with a target to convert 100,000 Nigerian job seekers and employees into business owners and employers.</p><p>For complete information and to register and pay online visit <a href="http://www.smeclub.net/starterpack">www.smeclub.net/starterpack</a><br /><br />The scheme, developed to extend research findings, technology transfer program and engineering capabilities of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO) to those who need them most, will train graduates on technical and managerial skills and prepare them to start businesses of their own. It will be delivered in the following modules:<br /><br />- Technical and managerial training <br />- Business plan preparation <br />- Finance sourcing <br />- Business setup <br />- On-going consultancy and mentoring </p><p><strong>Program Partners</strong><br />- Venture Vanguard will provide technical and project management support. <br />- FIIRO will provide technical training, feasibility reports and consultancy. <br />- The Centre for Management Development (CMD) will provide managerial training. <br />- Empretec Nigeria Foundation, an initiative of UNDP and UNOPS will provide entrepreneurial development support. </p><p>The training sessions will be held at various venues across the 6 geo-political zones, preceded by a program launch ceremony in each state, to which the executive governor and dignitaries of the state will be invited. We are also assembling a consortium of venture capital fund managers and banks who will invest in these businesses.<br /><br /><strong>Your Business Starter Pack Contains</strong> <br /><br /><strong>Training:</strong> Trainees will acquire technical and managerial skills required to start and manage businesses using locally available raw materials and locally fabricated equipment. Training sessions are scheduled to commence at different centres across the 6 geo-political zones from June 2008. The number of sessions in each zone will depend on the number of trainees and entrepreneurs who register for the scheme. See schedule for Lagos </p><p><strong>Business plan preparation</strong>: Trainees will receive business plan development kits and prepare their own bankable business proposals under the supervision of a consultant </p><p><strong>Financing:</strong> Trainees will be recommended to partner finance institutions based on their defined investment criteria. </p><p><strong>Set up of the business</strong>: Technical consultants will guide entrepreneurs in selection, installation and commissioning of appropriate equipment and systems, working with partner equipment vendors. </p><p><strong>Enterprise Development</strong>: Management consultants will help with enterprise development issues throughout the first year. </p><p><strong>Mentoring</strong>: Participating mentors will support young entrepreneurs in establishing their businesses.</p><p><strong>Business Parks</strong>: SMEclub will work with state and municipal governments across the country to set up industrial parks with shared facilities to reduce the burden on these new companies. </p><p>For complete information and to register and pay online visit <a href="http://www.smeclub.net/starterpack">www.smeclub.net/starterpack</a></p>]]></description>
